Compositional and thermophysical study of Al–Si- and Zn–Al–Mg-based eutectic alloys for latent heat storage

Abstract In this study, the eutectic temperature and latent heat of Al–Si- Zn–Al–Mg-based alloys were determined using differential thermal analysis (DTA) scanning calorimetry measurements in order to identify for storage ranges 450–550 300–350°C. First, compositions Al–Si–Cu–Mg–Zn Zn–Al–Mg–Sn identified electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy DTA two steps. second step, metallographic was repeated until a uniform microstructure obtained. Thermophysical revealed that temperatures several types within targeted relatively high heat. These results confirmed have suitable properties as phase change materials use 300–350 450–550°C ranges.
